Notes Error - #3F:27

I'm working on a fairly complex form with two date fields using the Notes Date/Time control. When I create a new document and attempt to click on the helper to bring up the calendar control for either date field, four instances of a dialog box appear with the above referenced error ("Notes Error - #3F:27"). Actually, the error sequence is as follows:
1) #3F:27
2) Notes Error - #3F:27
3)#3F:27
4) Notes Error - #3F:27
This happens only on a new document (validation rules require these fields be completed in order to save the document, anyway) the first occasion one of the date field helpers is clicked upon, and once clicking through the alert boxes, never happens again. The date fields (which have lots of event coding) behave appropriately except for the unexpected error messages above.
As a kicker, the error alerts do NOT occur when the document is in debug mode. I'm really at a loss as to why this is occurring and was hoping someone here might have some insight. Any thoughts, anyone?

Well, the plot thickens. This error occurs ONLY when the new document is initiated within a frame. Given that the navigational framework is utterly dependent on the use of frames, I'm getting a bit worried.
